Welcome to the Henderson Homeschool Explorer Group
(In short: HHE)
We are a group open to all kinds of homeschooling families with at least one child 6 years of age or older.
Our vision is to have regular park days and activities in Henderson where our kids can get to know some of the same kids each week and where we can receive and offer support as homeschooling parents by fostering friendships at those park days. In addition to park days, we will be setting up some activities and field trips that can be anywhere in the Las Vegas or Henderson area.
As a cooperative group, we encourage members to join the team of organizers, assist with activities and events and make suggestions for a new event to be scheduled. Consistent with other groups, cross-posting events and advertising will not be permitted. If you would like to add an event, let a lead organizer know and we will get you set up to coordinate events asap!
How to join:
It is required to have a real profile picture of yourself without captions on it. You will also need to provide an accurate e-mail address to the group organizers once your membership is confirmed with your group payment. This makes it easier to contact you for field trips.
Once you have tried out the group for 30 days we ask that you pay a yearly membership fee to help cover group costs. This helps cover expenses for group events. This is nonrefundable.
Respect:
We have created an amazing support group for homeschooling families in Henderson. We maintain a high level of love, respect and understanding towards each of our families. We are here to create a space of love and acceptance so there is no place for bullying or hate speech. Reach out to your admins with any concerns or questions you may have.
Membership Fee Schedule:
You will have 30 days to try our group before payment is requested.
Membership are $25 per family per year. You will be prompted to pay your dues when it is time.
We look forward to having you join us on our Homeschooling journey!

Mission Statement:
Henderson Homeschool Explorers Cooperative is a diverse group of homeschoolers seeking to develop friendships for our families through weekly park days and fun outings. We are a geographically-based group, consisting of homeschooling families with at least one child six years of age or older primarily in Henderson, but anyone willing to travel to Henderson is more than welcome to join.
Group Membership:
The group uses the BAND platform to post all park days and general group outings/field trips, and it is used exclusively for these types of events. Each family pays an annual membership to have access to our group. The current fee is $25 per year and it covers activities and supplies used for the group.
Setting Up Group Events:
If you possess a special skill (e.g., you know a foreign language or are skilled at a certain craft) and want to teach it to the kids in our group, please reach out to an organizer. We all bring skills and talent to the group, and we would love for you to share those with our group members.
Advertisement/Solicitation:
Advertising and soliciting for things not directly related to homeschooling are not allowed in the group by members and non-members, and we do our best to prevent this. However, we love to support our homeschooling families who own businesses which offer products or services related to homeschooling. If you have a business which offers such products and services, please forward your information to the Group Organizers, and we will review it and place it in our business section.
Code of Conduct:
We welcome all kinds of homeschoolers, religious belief, and lifestyle choices within our community. Parents are responsible for their children’s actions and behavior. Please monitor your children during all group events. Common sense should dictate how we all treat each other in the group. Let’s abide by the Golden Rule of “Treat Others the Way You Want to be Treated.” Conflicts among children and other adults do arise at times. We ask that you help facilitate communication and conflict resolution with your child and other children to the best of your ability in the given situation. We realize that our children are all learning valuable social skills, and parents need to be involved in those efforts. We want the children to be successful learning these important life skills. Should an issue arise, we ask that you try and resolve it with the involved child/parent. If the conflict does not get resolved, please feel welcome to notify one of the Group Organizers, and we will attempt to facilitate a resolution. The Group Organizers will try to be proactive as issues arise to benefit the health of the group at large. Group Organizers may remove members at their sole discretion.
Closing Thoughts:
With all the “business” above being said, the Group Organizers are passionate about providing great homeschooling experiences for our children and yours. These guidelines have been put in place to make the group run efficiently and effectively for all members. Our doors are always open should you have concerns, questions, ideas, and feedback. The Group Organizers are just regular moms that just decided one day to start a group on this side of town, and all we said was, “I’ll volunteer to do it.” We ask for your patience. A lot of time and attention go on behind the scenes to run the group and to plan/organize/manage park days and field trips. We BELIEVE that homeschooling is a worthy educational choice, and we LOVE it! We hope that shines through in our intentions and actions. This group is always growing and changing, and we are grateful for all of you and the unique talents and ideas you bring to the group.
